Best Burger in Granada - February 6, 2017

Hola todos!

Life is crazy! This week was a good week. This Wednesday is changes, but I think (hope) that Elder Brooks and I will be staying here. Life is good in la estacion. We will hopefully have two baptisms this Saturday and more to come this month. I think I am finally getting the hang of mission. more or less.

Things are good, but that means I am about to find out that I still have a lot to learn. This pday was pretty fun. Elder Brooks and I got haircuts and then we went thrift shopping, and then we went to this great place to eat. It was a restaurant we found and it was so good. It tastes just like American hamburgers. It was so great! It made my day! Then we went to a museum and that was okay. It was a pretty good day overall.

Things are just rolling along here. Of all things I have learned this week is that God is in charge! I read John 15 and it was really awesome and helped me learn about missionary work! I love this work and being here! Life is awesome! thank you all for everything! Have a good time up there in the states!

A Drunk Guy Spit His Teeth on Me - January 30, 2017

Hola todos!

What a week. It was pretty much the same as every other week, but life is good. This week the big event was a worldwide missionary broadcast, and that was cool. They changed a couple schedule things for us, and the numbers we report. It was pretty awesome.

Today was also fun. As a zone we played baseball and made pupusas ( el Salvador food like a quesadilla). That was pretty fun. I will get right to all the good stuff. Our investigators are doing really well, and we should see some baptisms in the coming weeks! That will be really awesome!

Weird thing I ate this week. Sardines. By far the grossest thing I have eaten here. The pigs head was better. And now for the funny story. We were walking to an appointment one night and we saw this man (clearly drunk) trying to get on his bike, and he promptly fell off in the gutter so we went over and helped him up sat him down for a while, and then we decided to walk him home. As we were walking he kept telling us his name and other crazy stuff, and while he was talking his dentures (teeth) came flying out of his mouth and landed on my arm. Classic, he was like oh I dropped those, and then I gave them back! What a day! Life is awesome here and I am loving every minute of it!

This week I finished The Book of Mormon again, and I just want to testify that I know it is true and I know that if we read ponder and pray and ask God if it is true He will reveal the truthfulness of it to us! I know the Savior lives and that he loves us! I know this is the work of God!

Love,
Elder Erickson

Tastes Like Chicken January 23, 2017

Hola Todos,

First off, the opossum tasted like chicken. I would eat it again. That is how you know I am a real Nicaraguan now. This week was crazy more or less. We are just working like crazy. I have never been so busy in my life.

On Tuesday I got my residency here so now I am official! Thursday we had interviews with President Brown, and that was really awesome like normal. He is so cool, and just knows exactly what we need to hear, and to do better. This week we walked a ton and every hour we had a lesson, everyday. They were just hauling from one end of the area to the other. I am a little tired :) But life is so good.

We still have investigators and they are doing and well and working towards baptism this next month. I don’t have much time this week so this will be a short one. I am loving it here, and just in the work! I love serving the people here and the Savior! Thank you for all that you all do!
