Miracle of the Costa Ricans - March 20, 2017

Hola Todos!

This week has been crazy and it feels like it has been faster than the others. We have spent a lot of time this week preparing the investigators for their baptisms this coming Saturday, if all goes to plan we should have 4! It has just been a rush from one place to another. Lots of fast walking. But it is all good. The weather was really weird this week. It was mildly cooler and it rained a lot (right now it is the dry season). That was a nice break from the heat I guess.

I have adjusted to eating liver now. It is pretty much just like steak. but then again, I haven’t had steak in a while. Apparently right now people eat a lot of iguanas and turtles. We have been promised turtles but our lunch appointment so I am excited for that. They also said they would try to get us some more opossum.

A cool story for the week. Sunday night we were teaching an investigator named John. He has had lots of doubts for a while and we have been working with him for a while to try to get them answered. We had a great lesson with him, and we were about to close when three Costa Ricans showed up and were like "Hey we are members of the church too and we saw you guys so we came over!" Anyways they were super excited that we were teaching someone and they taught John everything over again and gave a great second witness. The Spirit was really strong and it was an answer to prayer for us! John got a lot of answers and he is going to decide today where he wants to go! I know that this is the Lord's work, and that His hand is in all things! I love serving here and I am so happy! Thank you all for everything!

Mission Moments - March 13, 2017

Hola!

This week was a really good week. I didn’t go to Managua so that was a first in a few weeks. we had a lot of great lessons this week, and we should have some baptisms in the next few weeks. Today we played American football for p day. It was really fun, but I think I jammed a finger so I am typing with one hand now.

This week we ate some gross fish. the way they prepared it was just put the whole fish in boiling water and ya esta. Eyes and everything. Gross.

Things are moving along here in Granada. it is like my home! I officially have 8 months in the mission today, how does time fly. The mission really is just a blast! I love it here! It is worth every hard part and more.

Funny story for this week. We filled the truck again with people for church on Sunday, so Elder Bonilla and I were running ahead to get to church on time, and as we were running a dog came out of nowhere and started chasing us so I ran pretty fast, but the dog ran faster (I didn’t eat my Wheaties that morning just rice :) ) and proceeded to attack me. it bit my leg but didn’t go through my pants, and so I kicked it off and ran away. My companion and the investigators and members in the truck thought it was just hilarious. Oh well - good story. Life is great here and I love it more every day! Thank you all for everything!

Running to Church - March 6, 2017

Hola!

This week has been quite a week. Again, I had to go to Managua for a consejo de lideres, and I think I am going to have to go this week too for a trainers' meeting. Yay for crowded Nicaraguan buses. Anyways, this week was really awesome. We found some really awesome new investigators that are part of a member family, and they are doing awesome, so hopefully everything goes well with them.

Our hours got changed so we are still adjusting to that, but it is nice and it seems to be working better. Elder Bonilla and I are doing well and we are finding a lot of success here in good ole Granada. It keeps getting hotter every day, and I like rice less and less every day! But love it all!

Cool experience for the week (I have no idea how I changed the font to italic) we bring menos activos and our investigators to the church with the white family’s help in their truck. This week it was really awesome, but we filled up the truck, like there was people standing up in the back and it was just crazy full. it was so full and we were already late to church that Elder Bonilla and I couldn’t fit so we had to run to church to get there in time. I will count that for my exercise this week! :) Life is just awesome here and I am learning so much. I know that this is the Lords work and His church! I love Him and am so grateful to serve here! Thanks for all that you all do! Have an awesome week!
